Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

About the opportunity

 

We’re seeking a proactive Graphic Designer to join the Suburban Rail Loop Authority. The Graphic Designer will work with a dedicated team within the established SRLA Design Studio. Reporting to the Manager, Graphic Design Studio, the role requires the creation of high-quality branded collateral for Suburban Rail Loop in a fast paced and high-performing environment. You will deliver innovative design solutions for a wide variety of documents, marketing campaigns, hoarding and fencing, engagement collateral, website and email and corporate material. You will also be required to assist in the development of sub-brands, expansion of the SRL visual communication system and establish branding standard across multiple contractor groups.

 

As a Graphic Designer you will have:

  • Extensive experience in document design and production process; from creative concept to finished artwork, to delivered product and distribution strategies under deadline.
  • Well-developed project management skills with a keen eye for detail and demonstrated ability to make decisions and negotiate agreements in a complex and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate with and manage the expectations of senior management in the creation of business-critical documents and designs.
  • A sound knowledge of print production processes and technologies and experience in the design and print of corporate and creative collateral, together with experience in digital document production including editable and interactive PDFs.
  • Extensive understanding of digital specifications and best practice to create assets autonomously including the production of HTML and animated display assets
  • Ability to create hand drawn or custom illustrations and large-scale artwork
  • High level communication and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to present and negotiate, influence outcomes and prepare and produce a range of written materials, including briefs, reports, including geographical and stylised maps.
  • Advanced skills in Graphic Design and imaging software packages including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat including the preparation of electronic artwork for commercial print
