Metro Tunnel Project Office, Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (MTPO, VIDA) is the Victorian Government body responsible for the delivery of the Metro Tunnel. MTPO, VIDA is responsible for all aspects of the project, overseeing the final stages of construction, testing and commissioning to get ready for opening in 2025.
Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority comprises of Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Metro Tunnel Project (MTPO,VIDA), Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) and Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA).

About the role
MTPO, VIDA is seeking to engage an Information Centre Officer. The Information Centre Officer will be responsible for promoting knowledge of The Metro Tunnel Project. The Metro Tunnel HQ has been developed as part of The Metro Tunnel Project as a physical walk-in-centre in the CBD that provides a permanent location for the Victorian community and visitors to learn about the MTPO Project. The Metro Tunnel HQ includes large-scale project panels, interactive displays and staff available to answer visitor’s questions.
The Information Centre Officer role includes engaging with visitors and providing information about Metro unnel Project. The Information Centre Officer will explain a variety of information regarding the project’s alignment and construction by referring to displays and models on display in the centre. The Officer will be required to maintain a focus on strengthening community sentiment for the Project by demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Key Accountabilities
- As part of a team, deliver accurate and high quality information to members of the public by maintaining a welcoming and professional manner, acknowledging all visitors, respecting diversity and responding promptly to enquiries.
- Maintain accurate knowledge and understanding of the Metro Tunnel Project through regular training.
- Attend to each individual enquiry by taking a helpful approach, establishing the purpose of the visit, assessing the information required and providing the appropriate response.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships, liaising efficiently and professionally with the HQ team and broader project team (as required).
- Support the delivery of the HQ Community program by presenting Metro Tunnel Project information to School Groups and Community Groups.
- Utilise a vast range of information and communication technology including iPads and computers.
- Operate as an effective team member in a team environment and deliver quality, timely and effective customer service.
- Keep accurate and complete records of work activities via electronic record keeping system, including visitor contact information and referrals.
Qualification
- Candidates must hold, or be eligible for, a “Working With Children Check”.
- Flexibility to work, sometimes at short notice, around a seven day roster that includes weekends and public holidays (loadings apply).
- A minimum of two years work experience gained in a visitor information centre, community centre, museum or similar.
