About the role 

The Interface Manager oversees operational and contractual interfaces between the Metro Tunnel Public Private Partnership (PPP), High Capacity Metro Trains PPP, and Melbourne’s metropolitan rail operator. The role manages stakeholder relationships, risks, and integration issues, ensuring alignment across major transport contracts while delivering effective contract, program, interface, and risk management outcomes in a complex environment.

The Interface Manager implements operational strategies, manages risks and resolves issues across major transport contracts to support Departmental objectives. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, building effective partnerships with internal and external parties, and production of high-quality reporting. Success depends on sound judgement, communication, collaboration, a strong grasp of the commercial structures and broader transport environment, and a commitment to safe, inclusive, and flexible workplace practices.

You’re someone who: 

• Demonstrated ability to adapt strategies and approaches to achieve better outcomes, including leading others through change and uncertainty
• Strong outcomes focus, connecting work to organisational goals and broader community impact
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement and partnership skills, including collaboration, trust-building, and managing differing perspectives
• Experience managing interdependencies across programs, projects, and governance frameworks to optimise results
• Sound commercial acumen and change management capability, ensuring efficient delivery and accountability in complex environments

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

•  Track record of successfully managing operations and maintenance programs in complex project environments across the project lifecycle, including operationalisation post project completion.       
•  Track record of successfully managing stakeholder relationships in complex environments; and proven experience in managing multi agency programs of work
•  Tertiary Qualification in engineering, project management, business or other relevant disciplines
