About the group 

The Planning and Land Services Group in the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) brings together land, property, statutory planning, building and heritage capability to deliver whole of state services. The Group’s focus is to provide services in land administration, property information and facilitating the better use of government owned land.

 

About the Role

*This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2026*

This Internship is within the Land and Property Division of DTP which provides authoritative and comprehensive advice and service delivery across the land lifecycle.  This includes land acquisition, property management and sales related services.   The Intern – Project Support Officer main responsibility will be to work with the Senior Reform Officer and Insights and Improvements team members to progress Division reforms.  This will include developing process maps, writing technical and corporate policies, drafting templates and presentations. Proactivity and a willingness to actively communicate with stakeholders to gain technical insights will be key to success in this role.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Project Support – provide administrative support across the division to enable the successful and timely delivery of projects and services including reporting, records management, archiving, procurement, data entry.
  • Quality Writing – produces quality guidance material, briefings, reports, analysis and proposals in alignment with best-practice approaches and relevant legislation.
  • Develop Opportunities – identify and support identification of areas for improvement, undertake a variety of development opportunities to support the allocated division and discipline.
  • Stakeholder Management – develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders resulting stakeholder satisfaction.
  • In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Currently studying a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate tertiary degree.
  • Relevant degrees include: Property, Public Policy, Urban Planning, Business/Commerce, Politics, Law, Arts, Transport or a closely related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite
