VIDA is established as an Administrative Office under the Public Administration Act 2004 as a specialist organisation. The Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) is responsible for delivering the biggest transport and health infrastructure program in Victorian history. This includes more than 200 projects such as the Metro Tunnel, North East Link, West Gate Tunnel, removing level crossings, new and upgraded hospitals in Footscray, Frankston and Warrnambool, and specialist programs such as the early parenting centres expansion and upgrade program. Led by the Director-General, VIDA is comprised of the four project offices Major Road Projects Victoria, Level Crossing Removal Project, the Metro Tunnel Project and the Victorian Health Building Authority.

 

About this Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Managing Principal Lawyer, the Manager, Freedom of Information and Privacy will work within the Office of the Director-General (ODG) to lead the management of freedom of information and privacy obligations for the Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA).

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate expert-level experience in interpreting and applying FOI and privacy legislation, providing timely, accurate and pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders across VIDA and government. The position is responsible for overseeing all FOI requests received by VIDA, including engagement with the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner, departmental FOI units and internal project teams.

 

Operating in a dynamic and collaborative environment, the Manager, Freedom of Information and Privacy will exercise sound judgement, influence decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement of freedom of information and privacy practices that support and comply with VIDA’s legislative obligations.
