About the role
This role manages the day-to-day work operations of the Financial Reporting Valuations team within the Government Valuations area. It provides expert financial reporting valuation advice to the Valuer-General, Deputy Valuer-General and government agencies on complex or sensitive matters, while ensuring valuations meet legal and professional standards. The role leads a team, oversees external valuation providers, and works closely with government and industry stakeholders. Success in this role ensures government property valuations are accurate, reliable and trusted, supporting sound financial reporting, informed decision-making and public confidence in government valuation processes.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) (mandatory).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and other relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing the provision of valuation advice by the Valuer-General (mandatory).
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government policy, processes and administration and experience providing authoritative advice which impacts compensation and government projects or requirements (highly desirable).
- Driver’s License (mandatory).
