About the role

 

This role manages the day-to-day operations of the Government Services team within the Government Valuations area. It leads a team that provides independent property valuations and expert advice to the Valuer-General, Deputy Valuer-General and government agencies, particularly for land transactions and infrastructure projects. The role ensures valuations meet legal requirements, quality standards and government expectations. It also works closely with external valuers and key stakeholders across government and industry. Success in this role ensures reliable, high-quality valuation advice that supports major government decisions, protects public confidence and helps deliver important public projects.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

 

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API) (mandatory).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and other relevant legislation, regulations and standards governing the provision of valuation advice by the Valuer-General (mandatory).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government policy, processes and administration and experience providing authoritative advice which impacts compensation and government projects or requirements (highly desirable).
  • Driver’s License (mandatory).

 

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
