About the Role

The Manager, Investment Modelling, Analytics & Insights Assurance leads a team that reviews and assures investment modelling activities across DTP and its franchisees for both rail and road assets. The role oversees the evaluation of modelling artefacts, data quality, franchisee reports, and asset condition data, and produces regular assurance reports. It also develops and maintains modelling processes, supports multidisciplinary asset projects, coordinates assurance compliance, and drives continuous improvement and roadmap development for analytics and insights models.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities 

  • Effective Lifecycle Planning and Cost Analysis – As the functional lead of the Investment Analytics and Insights Assurance team, manager is accountable for developing and sustaining investment analytics and assurance capabilities across rail and road networks to enable DTP to be informed custodian of the rail and road infrastructure.
  • Assurance and Reporting - Manager assurance is accountable for reviewing the rail operator and road infrastructure asset investment models, conducting periodic evaluations in line with contractual requirements. as well as internal department operating requirements. Where appropriate, findings were used to inform and enhance the department’s own models.
  • Leadership – Liaise with Transport Services regarding the expected delivery, assurance and close out of artefact and data provided by Franchisee. Manager will be leading the embedment and provide oversight of assurance practices across the wider investment Modelling, Analytics & Insights Team.
  • Stakeholder Liaison and Management – The Manager builds a strong and effective working relationship with stakeholders (including other business areas, MR5 contract assurance team, heavy rail and light rail operators.
  • Continuous Improvement Strategy and Culture – Manager successfully foster a culture of engagement, participation and shared understanding across different stakeholders in relation to continuous improvement assurance practices that aligned with the priorities of the Asset Intelligence department.

 

Key Selection Criteria

The DTP is seeking a leader with strong stakeholder management and impactful communication skills to guide complex engagements and provide high-level advice to diverse audiences. The role requires a forward-thinking professional who drives innovation, continuous improvement and evidence-based problem solving, while demonstrating strong commercial acumen and effective team management. Applicants should bring accomplished data literacy, including developing data models and translating insights into decisions, along with applied digital and technological capability to support modern tools and processes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management or an equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in asset management, Insights Analytics and life cycle planning
  • Demonstratable experience in leading a team

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in change management.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering
