Investment and Technology leads and manages the investment lifecycle; drives commercial advice & negotiations to facilitate reform; and enables core delivery through Finance, Procurement & Enterprise Technology.
Commercial Advisory is a Division within Investment and Technology, and works to plan for, design and lead major commercial transactions and deliver commercial and contract management services delivering innovative and value for money outcomes.
About the role
**This is a 3 year Fixed Term role
Operations and Service Analyst supports bus service scheduling, planning, and operational analysis for major recontracting projects, including the large-scale Metropolitan Bus Services Contracts. The role provides evidence-based insights to enhance rostering, service delivery, and performance, driving improvements in reliability, efficiency, and customer outcomes. Success relies on extensive experience in complex, multi-depot scheduling and developing strategic service plans that optimise network performance.

Position accountabilities
- Deliver accurate and efficient scheduling, timetabling, and operational data to enable reliable bus service delivery across complex, multi-depot networks.
- Provide high-quality network and route analysis to inform depot strategies, fleet utilisation, and performance improvements.
- Support the development of evidence-based service planning, packaging, and performance frameworks that deliver value for money and better customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external operators to drive innovation, continuous improvement, and integrated transport solutions.
- Provide support to other projects and initiatives across Commercial Advisory as and when required.
Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
- Tertiary qualification in transport planning, engineering, data analytics, economics, or a related field (desirable)
- Experience in operational performance regime design, contracting frameworks, or procurement processes.
Desirable
- Knowledge of advanced scheduling and rostering systems or methodologies.
- Familiarity with transport modelling, demand forecasting, and service optimisation tools.
