Investment and Technology is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for investment strategy and deliver commercial and information technology services to drive high performance and improved commercial outcomes within the department.

The Service Operations branch in Enterprise Technology focuses on delivering IT services that unite people, processes and systems to form an integrated, high performing and efficient Department of Transport. The team thrives on working collaboratively with its stakeholders to achieve exceptional results for the department.

About the Role

Oracle Cloud System Lead will be responsible for managing and supporting technology components of Victorian Transport finance systems for the department. You will work closely with our internal and external clients to understand their requirements, design solutions, and ensure the smooth operation of solution and platform. The role requires experience and knowledge working with Oracle visual builder cloud services, Oracle APEX, Oracle BI Publisher reports, Oracle OTBI report and Oracle Integration cloud and the ability to work collaborative in a dynamic team.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage custom applications solutions on department’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Perform admin functions like user onboarding, setting user permissions, create and manage support tickets, incident triage, test case management, Document, and record management.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of environments.
  • Monitor and optimize resources for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Work with project teams to support design and deployment of solutions.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for clients, providing guidance on best practices and strategic direction.

 

Key Selection Criteria

The DTP is seeking an accomplished professional with strong expertise in problem solving, innovation, digital literacy, and customer focus. In this role, you will lead critical functions across release and deployment, capacity management, software configuration, and systems design, ensuring effective, secure, and scalable solutions. Success will require resilience, collaboration, and the ability to foster continuous improvement and deliver tangible business outcomes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Experience and knowledge working in Oracle Visual Builder cloud services, Oracle APEX, Oracle ERP BI Publisher reports, Oracle OTBI reports and Oracle Integration Cloud.
  • Cloud expertise and management

Desirable:

  • Experience and knowledge working with enterprise asset management applications (IBM Maximo and integrations to ESRI ArcGIS, Reality Capture, Bentley iTwin, Autodesk Construction Cloud) within rail and roads asset management teams.

All new appointments to the department will be subject to a National Criminal Records Check, Misconduct Screening, and a Qualification Check where there is a requirement for a mandatory qualification.
