Title: People and Culture Adviser - Business Partnerships
Join us on Victoria’s Big Build, delivering the Victorian Government's rail infrastructure projects. To reflect our broader remit, our organisation name has changed from Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) to VIDA Rail, providing a strong link to our overarching authority, VIDA. Working within a Business Partnering model, this role contributes to VIDA Rail’s high‑performing culture through robust, practical and people‑centred solutions, with a strong focus on enhancing the employee experience.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with people managers to provide advice across the employee lifecycle including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management and people matters.
- Provide technical advice and respond to employee and manager queries using the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement and People & Culture policies.
- Support Senior People & Culture Business Partners in resolving complex people issues and recommending appropriate outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across VIDA Rail to understand business challenges and opportunities.
- Prepare high‑quality documentation, reporting and accurate employee records to support governance and compliance.
The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term position, paying a salary between VPS Grade 4 ($97,955 - $111,142) plus superannuation, with hybrid working arrangements (a mix of CBD office and home‑based working).
About you
You are a friendly and highly organised HR professional who enjoys working in a fast paced project‑based environment. You bring sound judgement, exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to provide practical people advice, while working collaboratively with internal and project based stakeholders. You are comfortable working in a matrix environment and can effectively navigate the HR complexities inherent in this structure.
Let’s get technical – what skills do we expect you to have?
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement and HR policies.
- Experience working within a Business Partnerships or HR advisory team managing the people inbox.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes to deadlines.

What next?
To apply – just submit your CV.
No need to submit a separate address of the key selection criteria, and no need for a cover letter. Instead, we like to ask a couple of assessed questions in the application form (200 words max) to get to know you better outside of what is written on your CV.
In this instance the questions are:
- Describe your experience providing HR advice in a business partnering context
- Tell us about a challenging people issue you supported and how you approached it
- How do you manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment?
After assessing your CV and answers to the above questions, the next steps of the recruitment process might include:
- a phone screen to learn more about you, and you to learn more about us
- an interview to understand more about things you have worked on in the past
Please note: the successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include national police checks and misconduct screening.
