About the Role
Full time – Ongoing

The Performance Audit Officer is responsible for audit and administrative services in support of the Senior Performance Audit Officer and Performance Audit Manager. The Performance Audit team coordinate the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office performance audit program.

The role provides a comprehensive range of the specialist audit and administrative support services, including project reporting, information management, standardising business processes and assisting with training and communications. This role involves developing and maintaining reports and dashboards, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

Position Outcomes

  • Work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across the department to gather and collate information to produce complete and accurate records.
  • Support the preparation of management reports, submissions, briefings and other documents.
  • Design, develop and maintain reporting and dashboards, using systems including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Power Platform, and other software.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and effective communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders to provide timely, accurate, quality advice.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - As the Performance Audit Officer, you will play a key role in stakeholder management by actively adding value for clients and stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction, and addressing any concerns constructively. Your expertise in digital and technological literacy will be essential, as you will develop high-quality reports using software programs like Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint to generate data, reports, and charts. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you will take the lead in undertaking complex research and investigations to gather specific information and contribute to process enhancements. Your critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be crucial in providing authoritative advice, identifying emerging issues, and managing risks. Additionally, you will support auditing processes by gathering relevant data, adhering to legislative requirements, and utilising control systems and processes to ensure effective governance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Desirable

  • A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business Administration or related field
  • Extensive audit or business management experience in the public sector
