About the role
The Planner provides advice and support to the Minister for Planning on land use, development and planning matters. The role assesses planning scheme amendments and other statutory planning matters under Victorian planning legislation. The successful individual will prepare reports, briefs and correspondence, and provides clear advice to the Minister, senior leaders, local councils and government agencies. The Planner also works closely with stakeholders and contributes to major projects and government initiatives. Success in this role helps ensure planning decisions are well informed, timely and aligned with government policy, supporting sustainable development and well-planned communities across Victoria.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Planning, or a related field, is required.
- Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of statutory and strategic land use or government infrastructure planning within a metropolitan and/or regional planning context in Victoria.
Role Specific Requirements
• Driver’s License.
• May occasionally involve evening or weekend work during emergencies including occasional overnight, regional and interstate travel.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
