About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027  

The Planner supports the development and delivery of statutory and strategic planning policies and projects that help implement government priorities. The role undertakes research, analysis and policy development, and prepares reports, briefings and advice to support planning outcomes.

Working as part of a collaborative team, the Planner helps coordinate planning projects, engages with stakeholders, including Traditional Owners and First Peoples, and contributes to the delivery of planning initiatives. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail and a sound understanding of the planning system.

  • Uses your statutory planning knowledge to work independently, contribute to planning outcomes and support a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A relevant qualification in Urban Planning, Environment, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Economics, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or a related discipline (mandatory).
  • Thorough knowledge of the Victoria Planning Provisions and the Planning and Environment Act 1987 (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated experience in statutory and/or strategic planning, including contributing to complex planning projects, policy development and implementation (mandatory).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
