About the role
This is a Fixed Term, full-time position until 30 June 2026. 

The Precinct Transport Advisor plays an important role in shaping the future transport system for precincts and activity centres in Victoria.  The Advisor will both support the broader Precinct Transport Advice team and independently work closely with key stakeholders across DTP’s transport and planning functions to ensure the transport system supports capacity for homes and jobs in key areas of State interest through the provision of robust and integrated transport planning advice.

They bring a systems-aware approach and foundational knowledge of transport planning and its role in precincts and placemaking, contributing to the delivery of movement and place outcomes through thoughtful analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Position accountabilities
The role involves leading multi-disciplinary project teams and using strong negotiation, persuasion, and motivational skills to effectively manage both staff and stakeholders. It requires the ability to analyse complex technical data, and prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and correspondence that address issues with program or organisation-wide impact.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in transport planning in areas of growth or substantial land use change.
  • A tertiary degree relevant to transport planning.
