About the role
The Principal Adviser supports the Deputy Secretary by providing strategic advice, preparing high-quality briefings, reports and correspondence, and undertaking research and analysis on complex policy and project matters. The role also monitors key priorities to ensure outcomes are delivered and may lead confidential or cross-organisational projects on the Deputy Secretary’s behalf.
The position works closely with senior leaders across the department, ministerial offices and the Victorian Government to coordinate priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that align with the Investment and Technology Group’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience providing high-impact strategic advice to Ministers and senior executives, with strong project leadership skills.
- A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
