About the role 

This is a Fixed Term fulltime position until 30 November 2027.

The role provides expert technical advice to the Valuer-General Victoria on complex, unique and statutory valuation matters. It manages sensitive valuations for rating agencies and the State Revenue Office, while ensuring compliance with valuation legislation, standards and professional requirements.

The role leads complex projects, quality assurance and capability development to ensure accurate, consistent and trusted valuation outcomes. It also builds strong stakeholder relationships, resolves complex issues, drives continuous improvement and innovation, and promotes a collaborative, inclusive and ethical workplace.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

• A tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and Australian Property Institute (API) membership (mandatory), along with a current driver’s licence (mandatory).
• Extensive statutory valuation expertise in Victoria, including Rating Authority Valuations, rating and taxation valuations, objections and appeals, supported by comprehensive knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, relevant legislation, case law, regulations and standards (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of government land administration, policy and valuation processes, including Valuation Best Practice, supplementary valuations and objections (mandatory), with experience using Victorian rating valuation systems such as VMonline and broader property valuation expertise desirable.

Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required.
