About VHBA  

The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines. 
 
 

The Opportunity:  

The Principal Project Manager is responsible for overseeing a variety of Capital Projects. This role entails leading and developing a multidisciplinary team with a strong focus on performance, accountability, and project excellence. The position also involves coordinating the integration of various project aspects, including engineering, cost, constructability, design, land planning, environmental concerns, communications, and stakeholder engagement. 

We are recruiting for multiple positions:  

  • Full time - Maximum fixed term, up to three (3) years 

  • Full time - Maximum fixed term, 12-months 

 

Key aspects of the role include: 

  • Providing support to the Executive Director and delivery team to deliver a range of capital projects. 

  • Developing quality feasibility studies and master plans. 

  • Proactively building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Addressing complex construction challenges while guiding builders and contractors toward improved outcomes. 

  • Collaborating with managers in consultative processes that improve health and safety by utilising relevant tools and systems, including procedures, guidelines, and policies. 

 

We are looking for:  

  • Significant experience delivering Capital infrastructure projects ensuring project plans and objectives are clearly defined. 

  • Proven people management experience and successfully directing and influencing multi-disciplinary teams. 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in construction, architecture, building, engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
