About the role 
The Privacy and Information Access Advisor role supports the Privacy and Information Access Branch by managing FOI requests, appeals, complaints, and privacy matters. Working under supervision, the role provides specialist advice and ensures compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. 
 
The role is responsible for delivering high-quality FOI and privacy services by managing a high-volume workload of requests and related matters. It requires providing timely, accurate, and well-considered advice and decisions in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. The position supports strong stakeholder outcomes by maintaining trust, confidence, and satisfaction across internal and external clients. It also focuses on building and sustaining effective relationships with staff at all levels, including senior leaders and external agencies. Additionally, the role contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, service delivery, and overall effectiveness within the Privacy and Information Access Branch.

Qualifications and experience 
You’ll bring:  

  • Knowledge and experience in applying the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (desirable) 

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
