About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027.
The Project Lead is responsible for delivering capital road, road safety, active travel and bridge projects across metropolitan Melbourne, applying project management, contract management and engineering expertise. The role ensures projects meet agreed scope, quality, cost, time, safety and environmental requirements while complying with relevant standards, policies and specifications.
Key responsibilities include planning, procuring and monitoring projects, managing risks and quality, and reporting on project performance. The role provides road and bridge construction advice, administers contracts, holds suppliers accountable for technical and safety requirements, and manages internal and external stakeholders. It also promotes safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

- Builds productive stakeholder relationships, responds constructively to issues and focuses on delivering value and positive outcomes.
- Develops team capability through coaching, feedback and knowledge sharing, while supporting effective knowledge management and business continuity.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, project management or a related field.
- Relevant experience aligned with the role’s project delivery accountabilities and capabilities, including at least 5 years’ experience in project delivery.
- A current driver’s licence.
