About the role

  • The role is fixed term full time until 23 September 2026. 

You will be working with a high-performing team who are dedicated and supportive of one another. In this role, you will develop, support and maintain reports that help to inform decision-making across government and our department. It involves collecting and analysing data, preparing reports, briefings and presentations and ensuring information is accurate and delivered on time. The role works closely with internal teams, executives and external agencies to provide clear insights on performance, investment and projects. It also supports tools and processes for monitoring outcomes. Success means delivering reliable, easy-to-understand information that helps leaders make informed decisions, improves reporting quality and supports better planning and delivery of services.

What we’re looking for (Selection Criteria)

You’re someone who:

  • Enjoys working with data to support decisions, including using Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts) and producing clear summaries and visualisations under guidance.
  • Can think critically to interpret guidelines, solve problems and determine what information is needed to make sound, practical decisions.
  • Can build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships by understanding needs, connecting people to the right areas and addressing issues constructively.
  • Can communicate clearly and effectively, tailoring messages and presentations to different audiences using simple, logical and well-structured language.
  • Can influence others and contribute to continuous improvement by adapting your approach to your audience, sharing ideas, and seeking opportunities to improve how work is done.
  • Adapts to a fast-paced work environment, able to pivot and work on multiple tasks and priorities, as needed
  • Keen to learn and collaborate
  • Has good attention to detail

Qualifications and experiences

Desirable 

Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or a related field - Previous experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.

Mandatory

Experience in a similar role - Ability to utilise advanced Excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts is required.

Experience working within the VPS environment.

 

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions
