About the role

We’re looking for a Rolling Stock Analyst to support the oversight and assurance of tram rolling stock maintenance and renewal programs across Melbourne’s tram network.

The role focuses on monitoring contractor performance, reviewing maintenance activities and supporting compliance with contractual and technical requirements under the MR5 Tram Franchise Agreement and NGT Supply and Maintenance Agreement.

You’ll work closely with technical, contract management, financial and asset management teams to review maintenance reports, programs of work, invoices and performance data to ensure works are being delivered safely, effectively and in line with contractual obligations.

The role also includes undertaking site visits to tram maintenance facilities, identifying risks and issues, preparing reports and supporting continuous improvement in assurance and contract management practices.

What we're looking for (Selection criteria)

You're someone who has:

  • an operational understanding of rolling stock maintenance and repairs
  • experience reviewing technical information, contractor performance and maintenance activities
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and assess compliance against contractual requirements
  • good stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external contractors
  • strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • experience using Excel, Power BI or similar reporting and analysis tools (desirable).
  • experience in a public transport, maintenance, asset management or infrastructure environment will be highly regarded.

 

Qualifications and experience

You'll bring:

  • operational understanding of rolling stock maintenance and repairs (essential)
  • demonstrated experience in the oversight and management of assets in a public transport environment (desirable)
  • a relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).

 

Role specific requirements

  • Travel and work at tram maintenance facilities within the Melbourne area will be required.
  • You may be required to undertake a medical and other safety compliance requirements.
