About the role

 

This is a Part Time Fixed Term Opportunity until 01 February 2027 

This role is being advertised as 0.4FTE to fill a 2 day per week (flexibility will be considered) job sharing arrangement  

 

This role provides expert road safety advice to improve Victoria’s transport network. It works with teams across the department, government partners and senior leaders to identify road safety issues and develop practical solutions based on safe system principles. The role leads projects, shapes policies and provides clear advice to support decision-making. It also builds strong partnerships and supports teams to apply best practice in their work. Success in this role helps reduce road trauma, improve safety outcomes and create a safer road network for all road users.

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring:

 

  • Experience in policy development or program/project management in the road safety, public sector policy or public health areas (Mandatory).
  • Recognition through the Victorian Professional Engineering Register or qualifications that would enable future registration (Mandatory).
  • Strong experience in policy related road safety fields (Desirable)
  • Strong communications and negotiation skills and the ability to present complex information in a digestible form (Desirable).
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders (Desirable).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
