About the role

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2028

This position is responsible for coordinating the department’s Cabinet and Cabinet committee business. It provides authoritative, well-informed, and up-to-date advice to the Ministers’ offices, the Secretary, DTP executives and senior staff on Cabinet and Cabinet committee matters, and the associated protocols and procedures.

Position accountabilities

The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a proactive Senior Advisor, Cabinet Services to coordinate Cabinet, Cabinet committee and legislative reform processes, provide high-quality advice, manage competing priorities and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable, resilient and confident in managing sensitive and complex matters.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • At least 12 months’ experience of supporting government decision-making through Cabinet, legislative, parliamentary, or ministerial processes (desirable).
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as government, politics, public administration, or public law, or equivalent experience (desirable).
