About the role
The Senior Advisor, Governance leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of governance systems, products and services across the Department of Transport and Planning. The role provides strategic governance advice, supports senior governance bodies, manages governance risks, and works collaboratively across the department to ensure effective decision-making and the achievement of government objectives.
The role provides specialist governance advice to transport and planning portfolios, drives continuous improvement through best practice and technology, delivers high-quality stakeholder support, and promotes a safe, inclusive and collaborative team environment while contributing to broader divisional priorities.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Experience providing board secretary or secretariat support to committees comprising senior staff members.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or membership with a professional body such as the Governance Institute would be an advantage.
- The ability to travel within metropolitan Melbourne and occasionally to regional Victoria to support committee meetings (mandatory).
