DTP Legal provides legal, legislative, commercial, information access and policy advice and support to the Secretary, Department and its Ministers in the achievement of the transport and planning system’s vision, objectives and decision-making principles

 

About the role

This position is responsible for managing the department’s parliamentary business including PAEC. Leading a small team, the position is also responsible for providing authoritative advice to Ministers and executive offices on all parliamentary processes and protocols, including PAEC. This position works as part of a team and closely with Ministers’ offices, the Secretary’s office and with executives and teams across the department and its agencies to ensure the delivery of efficient, high quality, timely and coordinated advice and service to our Ministers and the Secretary.

Position accountabilities

  • Lead a small team managing the daily parliamentary and PAEC operations, ensuring quality and accuracy in documentation.
  • Develop and improve guidelines, procedures, and systems to support Ministers, the Secretary, and executives.
  • Provide expert advice on parliamentary administrative policies to the department and Ministers’ offices.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration.

All new appointments to the department will be subject to a National Criminal Records Check, Misconduct Screening, and a Qualification Check where there is a requirement for a mandatory qualification.
