About the role
**This is a 10 month Fixed Term Position**
The Senior Advisor, Corporate Strategy, Planning and Performance provides leadership across the Department to support delivery of an integrated planning and performance reporting framework to ensure oversight of the department’s strategic direction. The Senior Advisor will partner with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver an innovative work program that enables achievement of a better transport and planning system.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong strategic leadership with the ability to translate organisational strategy into clear operational and team-level outcomes, while building capability and guiding others through change. Success in this role relies on the ability to manage complex and competing stakeholder interests, communicate with credibility and impact on sensitive issues, and apply critical thinking to deliver practical, sustainable solutions that improve business outcomes.

Position accountabilities
- Lead the coordination, review, approval and delivery of the department’s annual report, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, alignment with strategic objectives and timely submission.
- Support the development and implementation of the department’s corporate plan and contribute to the annual business planning cycle to ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the department and portfolio to support a shared understanding of planning, performance goals and priorities.
- Apply a continuous improvement approach to identify and manage risks, improve processes and align strategy, planning and performance with departmental objectives, government priorities and community expectations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental records management, information security and privacy policies.
- Contribute flexibly to broader team deliverables within the Governance & Portfolio Services division as required, consistent with employment classification and capabilities.
Qualifications and experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role
