About the role

This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 December 2026.

As Senior Advisor – Road Safety Programs, you’ll lead the design and planning of Victoria’s major safety infrastructure initiatives including the Safer Roads Program, Commonwealth Road Safety Program and the Federal Blackspot initiative. Working across internal teams, councils and external delivery partners, you’ll apply safe system thinking, program leadership and stakeholder coordination to deliver data-led investment planning and targeted improvements across the transport network.

Position Outcomes

  • Lead the development of integrated, evidence-based road safety programs.
  • Coordinate portfolio-wide advice that informs transport investment decisions.
  • Guide business case development for key road upgrades.
  • Represent the department in collaborative planning with delivery partners.
  • Provide strategic advice to ministers on program risks and impacts.

What You’ll Bring


You’re a skilled program or infrastructure advisor with experience working across government and industry to plan and deliver road safety or transport programs. Your background may include engineering, road safety policy, or infrastructure planning, and you’re known for turning strategy into actionable outcomes. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong analytical skills and a deep sense of public purpose.

Desirable

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering or related road safety policy field
  • Experience presenting complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate cross-sector relationships and multi-agency projects
