Title: Senior Commercial Officer
Join us on Victoria’s Big Build, delivering the Victorian Government's rail infrastructure projects. To reflect our broader remit, our organisation name has changed from Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) to VIDA Rail, providing a strong link to our overarching authority, VIDA. In this role, you will:
- Prepare, implement and maintain procurement and contract administration documentation, systems and plans across all project phases
- Support tender development, evaluation, contract negotiations and contract award processes
- Manage day to day administration of major infrastructure contracts in line with contract management plans
- Provide advice, analysis and reporting on complex and often sensitive contractual matters
- Negotiate and resolve challenging contractual issues with contractors and stakeholders
- Administer contract variations, change proposals and approvals
- Monitor contractor performance, compliance and contractual risks
- Provide commercial and contractual advice on procurement strategies and delivery models
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across commercial and contract management practices
This is a 3 year fixed term opportunity, paying a salary of $116,413 - $140,849 (plus superannuation) offering hybrid working arrangements and exposure to some of Victoria’s most significant infrastructure projects. This role will require you to work from both CBD and Moorabbin office locations.
About you
You’re an experienced commercial or contract management professional who enjoys working in complex, fast paced environments. You bring sound judgment, strong attention to detail and the confidence to provide clear, defensible advice to senior stakeholders.
You thrive in collaborative settings, can navigate competing priorities, and are motivated by contributing to projects that deliver long term benefits for Victorians.
At VIDA Rail we embrace diversity and inclusion. We actively strive to remove barriers and encourage applications from people of any age, or disability, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, culturally and linguistically diverse or LGBTIQA+. What next?
To apply – just submit your CV.
No need to submit a separate address of the key selection criteria, and no need for a cover letter. Instead, we like to ask a couple of assessed questions in the application form (200 words max) to get to know you better outside of what is written on your CV.
In this instance the questions are:
- Describe your experience administering and managing major infrastructure or construction contracts.
- Provide an example of a complex contractual issue you have resolved and how you approached it.
- How do you build and maintain strong working relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders?
After assessing your CV and answers to the above questions, the next steps of the recruitment process might include:
- a phone screen to learn more about you, and you to learn more about us
- an interview to understand more about things you have worked on in the past
Please note: the successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which include national police checks and misconduct screening.
