About VHBA
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
The Senior Communications Advisor will support the planning and delivery of corporate communications and Ministerial events that highlight VHBA’s projects and achievements supporting Victoria. In this position you will create and edit diverse communication materials, such as briefs, speeches, articles, and branded content to engage key audiences across multiple platforms. The role also includes attending events to assist health services, project managers, and you will be working with both senior internal and external stakeholders.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic communication plans, campaigns, and initiatives that align with the organisation’s objectives.
- Proactively identifying and monitoring communication risks and issues, escalating as needed, and providing strategic guidance on mitigation while coordinating timely responses.
- Overseeing the planning and delivery of Ministerial and industry events, managing key messages, speeches, briefing materials, and logistics in collaboration with the Minister’s office.
We are looking for:
- Sound ability to prepare and edit communications using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; ensuring written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs.
- Someone who can build relationships with people at all levels; promotes harmony and consensus through diplomatic handling of disagreements.
- Ability to generate new ideas using diverse sources and apply them to improve work to reflect on experience and embrace better ways to practice.
