About the role

The Senior Content Producer leads the development, publishing and optimisation of high-quality, accessible and engaging digital content across the Department’s web, app and other digital channels. You will manage complex and high-priority content requests, ensuring content meets governance, accessibility and brand standards. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will translate business requirements into clear, user-centred content that supports transport operations, campaigns and customer information. You will also provide quality assurance and guidance to Content Producers, support delivery planning, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital content processes, tools and standards.

What we’re looking for 

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong digital and technological literacy, confidently using and supporting others with relevant digital tools and platforms. You will bring a strong customer focus, tailoring content and services to meet user needs while managing service delivery risks. Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to build relationships, understand different perspectives and adapt communication to diverse audiences. You will demonstrate sound project delivery skills, effectively prioritising tasks, maintaining accurate records and delivering work to agreed plans. Experience in digital communications is also important, including developing targeted, multi-channel content, applying audience insights and monitoring digital performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant qualification in communications, digital media, marketing or equivalent experience (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated experience producing, publishing and optimising digital content within a content management system environment (mandatory)
  • Experience working within and applying structured content governance frameworks, including templates, workflows and quality standards (mandatory)
  • Proven experience delivering content in high-volume, time-sensitive or operational environments, managing competing priorities and deadlines (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding and practical application of accessibility standards (WCAG) and plain language principles (mandatory)
  • Experience providing advice to stakeholders on content structure, messaging and channel suitability to achieve user and business outcomes (mandatory)
  • Experience analysing content performance and using data and insights to inform continuous improvement (desirable)
  • Experience contributing to or supporting content strategy, content design or service improvement initiatives (desirable)
