About VIDA ROADS

VIDA Roads (formerly Major Road Projects Victoria) is delivering a massive investment in the state’s roads.  We’re delivering major new road projects across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria while improving the roads people rely on every day.

The West Gate Tunnel Project will give Melbourne a second freeway link between the west and the city – providing a much-needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge and a vital second river crossing.

Northeast Link will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network with new 6.5 km tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. We’re also overhauling the Eastern Freeway and completing the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough.

Road Programs are also delivering dozens of new roads, bridges, road widening projects and major freeway upgrades.

1. Data Architecture Design: Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives.
2. End-to-End Data Pipeline Development: Build and optimise robust data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering data from diverse internal systems, external APIs, and third-party sources into a cloud data platform.
3. Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Implement data governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity, lineage, and compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
4. Security & Compliance: Ensure data solutions adhere to cybersecurity protocols, data privacy laws, and VIDA’s internal risk and compliance frameworks.

1. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align data solutions with organisational goals, understand data needs, and deliver datasets that support effective decision-making

Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, the Senior Data Engineer is pivotal in shaping and advancing VIDA Road’s data infrastructure to enable business intelligence and analytics outcomes. In this role, you will lead, architect, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing data pipelines and integrations that underpin enterprise reporting, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
