About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027
The Senior Data Modeller is the technical lead for the Vicmap Property automation pipeline within the Vicmap Transformation Program. The role designs and delivers data models and pipeline solutions that automate the flow of digital cadastral data into Vicmap, reducing manual processing and improving the management of Victoria’s spatial data.
Working closely with the Senior Data Engineer, Vicmap teams and external partners, the role oversees data model changes, validation rules, transformation processes and governance approvals. The position also develops technical documentation, supports system integration and data quality, and ensures solutions align with departmental governance, risk management, change management and cultural safety requirements.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:
- Extensive experience delivering spatial data and information-based digital solutions in complex technical environments, including expertise in project management, architecture frameworks, and ICT cloud technologies (mandatory).
- Significant hands-on experience with ETL processes, PostGIS/PostgreSQL databases, FME (or similar tools), and programming in Python and JavaScript (mandatory).
- Relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications, experience managing spatial data, and knowledge of Vicmap Core Spatial Data Products and Services, with an understanding of Victoria's cadastral data infrastructure and products.
