About the role
This is a full time fixed term position until 12/03/2027
This role manages the accounting and reporting of the department’s assets. It prepares financial information for the annual report and ensures compliance with accounting standards. The role provides advice on asset capitalisation, valuation and depreciation, and maintains accurate asset records through regular analysis and reconciliation. It works closely with business areas and stakeholders to ensure policies are followed and supports staff through guidance and training. Success in this role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong compliance and improved asset management processes across the department.

- Enjoys working with financial data and applying accounting standards to manage assets accurately.
- Can apply accounting knowledge to asset valuation, capitalisation and complex reconciliations.
- Can analyse and resolve complex accounting issues and improve processes and reporting.
- Can manage asset accounting tasks such as work in progress, disposals and compliance requirements.
- Can build strong relationships and communicate clearly with stakeholders to support accurate and timely outcomes.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:

Relevant Tertiary Qualification and/or experience relevant to the capabilities of the role (Desirable).
