About MRPV 
 
Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is delivering a massive investment in the state’s roads.  We’re delivering major new road projects across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria while improving the roads people rely on every day.  
 
The West Gate Tunnel Project will give Melbourne a second freeway link between the west and the city – providing a much-needed alternative to the West Gate Bridge and a vital second river crossing. 
 
North East Link will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network with new 6.5 km tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. We’re also overhauling the Eastern Freeway and completing the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough. 
 
Road Programs are also delivering dozens of new roads, bridges, road widening projects and major freeway upgrades.

Join us in building better connections for Victoria by: 

  • Creating and maintaining accurate spatial information and customised GIS maps for the West Gate Tunnel Project (WGTP). 

  • Undertaking detailed land and property investigations, including title searches and stakeholder consultation. 

  • Preparing internal briefs, correspondence, and maintaining accurate property databases and spreadsheets. 

  • Providing expert advice and reporting to internal stakeholders and government partners. 

  • Supporting the delivery of project outcomes in collaboration with various agencies and contractors.

We’re seeking a Senior GIS Project Officer (VPS5) to join our Property team. In this role, you will bring your expertise in spatial analysis and land investigations to help deliver one of Victoria’s most significant infrastructure initiatives — the West Gate Tunnel Project. Reporting to the Survey & GIS Manager, you’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy, producing custom maps, and contributing to high-impact planning and delivery processes. 

About You  

  • You have advanced GIS skills, including proficiency in ArcGIS and related tools. 

  • You’re experienced in managing property and land status data within a government or major project setting. 

  • You thrive in a collaborative, high-performing environment and bring excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. 

This opportunity is a 6-month secondment.
