We’re on the lookout for a Senior HR Policy Advisor to join our high-performing team! In this dynamic role, you will take the lead in keeping our HR policies up to date, aligned with best practice, compliant with legislation and public sector IR policies.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to DTP by working collaboratively to promote a fair, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.

Key Selection Criteria

As a Senior HR Policy Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with stakeholders, users, and subject matter experts to develop and maintain effective HR policies.

You will have the ability to interpret and apply policies to support timely and informed decision-making within established frameworks.

Strong research and analytical skills are essential, enabling you to draft policies, prepare business cases, gather and assess data, and provide well-founded recommendations.

You will help navigate workplace issues such as misconduct and poor performance management with sound judgment, applying guidelines where available or leveraging insights and collaboration to determine the best course of action.

Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills are needed, as well as the ability to communicate with confidence and credibility.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Experience in researching, developing, obtaining approval and implementing human resource policies.

Desirable  

  • A tertiary qualification including law (preferably employment law) and/or industrial relations.
  • An ability and willingness to travel and work across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria is sometimes required.
