About the role

Job Location: 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
The Senior IT Assurance Officer supports Land Services Victoria (LSV) by ensuring IT systems and services supporting the land register are secure, reliable, compliant and deliver value. The role focuses on IT audit, assurance, controls testing, cyber security, vendor performance and contractual compliance across applications, infrastructure and cloud environments. It helps identify and manage IT and cyber risks while protecting government information and supporting effective service delivery.
The role leads and supports assurance reviews, monitors regulatory and contractual obligations, and provides clear advice and reporting to senior stakeholders. It develops options for complex issues, builds strong relationships, negotiates outcomes and supports governance, risk management and value assurance.

You’re someone who: 

  • Understands business and commercial drivers, manages vendor relationships effectively, and holds suppliers accountable for performance and agreed outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, tailoring complex information and presentations to different audiences to support understanding and informed decisions.
  • Applies strong systems thinking to understand complex environments, identify risks and opportunities, and develop practical solutions that deliver value.
  • Independently manages contracts, governance and audit activities, ensuring supplier performance, compliance, risk mitigation and adherence to relevant frameworks.
  • Focuses on value and benefits realisation by defining expected outcomes, monitoring delivery and providing clear reporting on progress and results.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • Qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (mandatory)
  • Professional certification in IT audit or security (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) (desirable)
  • Experience in procurement and contract management, including practical knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management Systems, Contract Management Frameworks and Risk and Safety Management (desirable)
