Housing, Building and Land Delivery drives balanced urban growth by delivering zoned land for housing, jobs and infrastructure in State-led areas, a pipeline of government-owned land for development, and an improved building system.

About the role
The Senior Infrastructure Advisor role sits within the Fishermans Bend Team in the Precincts Division, supporting the delivery of Australia’s largest urban renewal outcomes.
The position will play a central role in building and maintaining strong relationships across government agencies, local councils, and development industry partners to ensure the coordinated and efficient delivery of infrastructure across the Fishermans Bend Precinct. In this role you will support the planning, prioritisation, and sequencing of key projects to achieve the precinct’s urban renewal outcomes.
Additionally, the role will contribute to the development and implementation of reporting and monitoring frameworks, land acquisition and assembly strategies, partnership agreements, and infrastructure project management.
The incumbent will provide strategic guidance and coordination to navigate complex delivery challenges and drive successful outcomes across multiple initiatives.
Position accountabilities
- Provide strategic and planning oversight of delivery of the Vision and Framework for Fishermans Bend
- Provide advice on infrastructure funding and delivery approaches to support State Government implementation and administration of the Fishermans Bend Development Contributions Plan.
- Champion and oversee delivery of a range of infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate and negotiate with precinct delivery partners to achieve outcomes, including other departments and agencies and stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished project leader, skilled in translating strategies into programs, to support the delivery of the precinct outcomes.
You will be capable of applying critical thinking and problem-solving to resolve complex issues, influence and persuade stakeholders, and build strong partnerships. Highly collaborative, they will foster a culture of shared ownership while prioritising and coordinating initiatives. You will be able to establish mechanisms to monitor project impact, ensuring delivery approaches create measurable, positive outcomes for the precinct and the community.
Technical Capabilities
- Capable of providing specialist precinct and placemaking advice, applying advanced modelling, statutory planning knowledge and evidence-based analysis to guide decisions that integrate transport safety, environmental sustainability and high-quality urban design outcomes.
- Able to conduct regular assessments, stakeholder consultation and scenario planning to ensure current and future precinct uses remain responsive to population needs, community expectations and emerging policy requirements.
- Capable of leading end-to-end delivery of complex projects and programs by developing robust project strategies, managing risks, balancing competing priorities and resolving issues to ensure alignment with strategic precinct objectives.
Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
- Bachelor degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Project Management, Development or Engineering or related field.
Desirable
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of State and/or Local Government governance practices and decision-making pathways,
- Experience in project management and delivery of infrastructure projects, in an urban renewal context.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and engagement and partnerships approaches to delivery.
