About the Role

This is a Fixed Term Position for 2 years

This role is responsible for delivering injury case management, early intervention, and occupational rehabilitation services to employees. It also supports the implementation of various health and safety programs. The key objectives of the role are to reduce workplace injuries and assist employees in staying at work or returning to work after an injury. Support is provided for both work-related and non-work-related injuries.

Position Outcomes

  • Provide expert advice to managers, staff, and HR Business Partners on wellbeing, workers compensation, injury management, return to work, and early intervention strategies.
  • Manage relationships with DTP’s Workers Compensation insurer and oversee claim processes, ensuring accurate documentation and effective claims management.
  • Support and guide managers and supervisors through employee return-to-work plans and broader wellbeing matters.
  • Monitor and report on injury management and claims performance and provide relevant data insights.
  • Develop and lead injury management initiatives focused on early recovery and return to work.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g. Payroll, Workplace Relations, HR) to ensure the provision of appropriate injury management support.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Extensive experience managing work related injuries and delivering injury management and return to work services.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria.

 

Desirable

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Victorian workers’ compensation legislation and scheme.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills and ability to build relationships and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related field e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling.
