Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

About the opportunity

The Senior Internal Communications Adviser plays a key role in fostering a positive culture within a large organisation, driving staff engagement and inclusion. Reporting to the Manager, Internal Communications, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the intranet and other digital assets, as well as generating digital and written content for internal newsletters and events. You will develop strong working relationships across all divisions of the organisation, and plan and deliver events, including All Staff Forums, panels and activities to mark days of significance. As a trusted adviser on key organisational matters, you’ll also work closely with the Office of the CEO and other senior leadership to deliver messaging.

As a Senior Internal Communications Adviser you will have:

  • Significant experience in communications, media management, stakeholder relations or a media environment, with excellent written skills, including the ability to generate story ideas and edit copy with accuracy and empathy; ability to translate complex concepts for different audiences.

 

  • High level interpersonal and consultative skills, and attention to detail, including demonstrated ability to build positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and deliver exceptional results when collaborating with others.

 

  • Experience in maintaining an intranet platform, publishing news articles, editing and uploading documents while following brand and style guidelines.

 

  • Proven organisational ability – being able to prioritise, work to deadlines and take accountability for achieving agreed outcomes.

 

  • Proficient in using the Microsoft suite of applications, including SharePoint. Skills in Adobe applications, delivering EDM (Electronic Direct Marketing). Video skills including filming and editing and familiarity with graphic design will be well regarded.
