About the role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2028
Join a dynamic team supporting the recontracting of Melbourne’s metropolitan train operations and maintenance as a key legal advisor to the MR5 Project. Reporting to the Director Legal, you’ll deliver clear, practical and timely advice across a broad range of legal and commercial matters. You’ll conduct in-depth research, contribute to legal documentation and government submissions, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders. The role involves identifying and managing legal risks as part of the procurement and transition project phases, and supporting the implementation of key MR5 Train reforms. With a focus on solutions and strong partnerships, you’ll play an important role in achieving project outcomes while working with a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in law (LLB) and current Victorian Practising Certificate (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement)
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
