About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 15th February 2028

The Senior Manager, People Performance and Strategy leads programs and initiatives that improve the employee experience across the Department. The role works closely with senior leaders and People and Culture teams to deliver workforce reforms, strengthen workforce planning, and support attraction and retention strategies. It also leads the safe and ethical use of digital tools to improve people services, decision-making and workforce insights. Success in this role helps create a more positive, sustainable and high-performing workplace, supports better outcomes for employees and leaders, and strengthens the Department’s ability to meet future workforce needs.

You’re someone who:

  • Thinks strategically and solves complex problems by looking at issues from different perspectives and delivering practical, long-term solutions.
  • Leads major projects and workforce initiatives, setting clear plans, governance and measures to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Builds and delivers strategic plans that align team priorities with organisational goals and future workforce needs.
  • Leads and supports change by creating a positive culture, helping people adapt and improving the way work is delivered.
  • Works collaboratively across teams and business areas, building strong relationships and encouraging knowledge sharing to achieve shared outcomes.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources. (mandatory)
  • Formal qualifications in change management, with demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑wide organisational change and organisational design initiatives. (mandatory)
  • Significant senior experience leading workforce/people experience initiatives and providing strategic advice to executives.
