About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager – ITS Maintenance to lead the maintenance and performance of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) across the transport network.

In this role you will:

  • lead a specialist maintenance team responsible for keeping ITS assets reliable, safe and performing at a high standard
  • manage contracts, budgets, and suppliers, and make sure maintenance activities deliver value for money and meet government and safety requirements
  • play a key role in translating technical and operational information into clear advice for senior leaders. This includes preparing briefings and reports, managing risks and issues, and supporting decision-making across the ITS program.

A strong focus of the role is improving system reliability, driving better asset performance, and supporting continuous improvement in how ITS maintenance is delivered.

What we're looking for (Selection criteria)

You're someone who has:

  • experience leading technical teams in maintenance, engineering or transport environments
  • strong experience managing contracts, budgets and supplier performance in complex environments
  • strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across government, contractors and internal teams
  • proven ability to solve complex problems and implement practical, outcome-focused solutions
  • experience leading and developing teams and building a positive, high-performance culture
  • strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
  • strong commercial and financial acumen, including contract management, risk oversight and value-for-money decision making
  • experience in transport, infrastructure or Intelligent Transport Systems environments (highly regarded).

Qualifications and experience

You'll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing budgets, contracts and/or procurement in a technical maintenance or service delivery environment (mandatory)
  • 5+ years’ experience working with stakeholders across teams, contractors or government agencies (mandatory)
  • experience with asset management systems, digital tools and reporting systems (desirable)
  • a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related field (desirable).
