About the role  

The Senior Manager – Performance and Reporting Metro Tunnel plays a key role in overseeing performance reporting and data analysis for one of Victoria’s largest rail infrastructure projects. The role leads the review and validation of contractor performance data, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and supporting effective contract and project management outcomes. You will develop high-quality reports, manage complex data from multiple systems and provide expert advice on performance, risk and commercial matters. Working closely with project teams, contractors and stakeholders, you will support fault management, payment verification and service delivery across the Metro Tunnel and related High-Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT) projects.

This role combines strategic oversight, technical analysis and stakeholder engagement to help ensure reliable, safe and efficient rail operations for the community.

Qualifications and experience  

Mandatory

  • Significant experience in collecting, preparing, modelling and analysing complex, high-volume data from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing complex SQL, (or related)  queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, and testing of high-quality business intelligence reports, particularly using Power BI (including complex Power Query and DAX).

Desirable

  • Familiarity with rail or transport asset information systems and related performance and reliability data.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, , or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in the use of advanced data visualisation and business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, to develop and deliver effective stakeholder reporting.
  • Expert-level capability in writing and optimising SQL (or related) for querying large datasets across various platforms and databases.
  • Experience utilising data processing tools, such as Databricks, and advanced features of Microsoft Excel to clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis.
