Title: Senior Panel Member - PPV
About Us
We create thriving places and connected communities. We plan, build and maintain Victoria’s transport, planning and land services. We are committed to a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive workplace where our people can thrive and do meaningful work.
Planning Panels Victoria are established under either the Planning and Environment Act 1987 or the Environment Effects Act 1978 and are a means of facilitating public participation in the planning and environment decision making process. They provide a process to independently assess planning scheme changes or development proposals through the consideration of submissions, the conduct of hearings and the preparation of reports. Planning Panels are advisory and make recommendations; with the final decision made by the responsible statutory body (local Council) or the Minister for Planning.
About the role
*This is a 9 month Fixed Term Position with a total renumeration package of $261,288*
As a Senior Panel Member, you'll hear public submissions on planning scheme amendments and other issues referred by the Minister for Planning, weighing up evidence and arguments before writing clear, well-reasoned reports and recommendations. You'll work closely with DTP staff, the Minister, local Councils and the community, either running your own hearings or chairing a panel. Your judgement and reports directly shape planning decisions that affect communities across Victoria, so getting it right matters to everyone with a stake in how our state grows and changes.
