About Us

The Department of Transport and Planning leads planning, transport and land use decisions across Victoria, shaping connected, sustainable and liveable communities. The Housing, Building and Land Delivery group focuses on planning and delivering the places Victorians call home — from infrastructure to neighbourhoods. Together, we deliver better services, greater choice, and stronger connections for all Victorians.

Shape the neighbourhoods of tomorrow, today

Help lead a landmark government program to deliver more homes in the right places, faster. The Activity Centre Program is transforming how we plan and deliver housing across Victoria, and this role puts you at the centre of one of the state’s most ambitious strategic planning efforts.

About the Role

Fixed term until 30 June 2026

As Senior Program Delivery Officer, you’ll be a key figure in delivering the Activity Centre Program — a Plan for Victoria initiative reshaping how Victoria’s suburbs grow. Working closely with local government, state agencies and industry, you’ll lead engagement strategies, manage complex relationships, and ensure planning decisions are aligned to strategic goals and community needs.

You’ll serve as a primary contact for councils, advise on land and infrastructure planning, and ensure program deliverables are met. This role combines high-level engagement, strategy, and delivery focus — and offers the chance to influence lasting, place-based outcomes across Melbourne.

What you’ll bring – and why you’ll want to be here

You’re an effective communicator, relationship builder and planner — equally confident drafting a ministerial brief, navigating council conversations, or managing multi-stakeholder timelines.

You think strategically, act decisively, and thrive in collaborative environments. You bring a deep understanding of infrastructure, planning, or public policy, and can translate complex information into clear, impactful advice. If you’re looking to influence how Victoria grows — and grow your career while you’re at it — this is your moment.
