About the Role

The role is fixed term fulltime until 13 October 2028.  Reporting to the Manager, Project Coordination - NELP, the Senior Project Manager, Project Integration is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of major transport initiatives to achieve an integrated transport network in Victoria bringing significant economic value across the State. The role supports the client interface function between the relevant delivery agency (Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) and the Department of Transport and Planning.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to the oversight, on behalf of the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) in its client role across Victorian Infrastructure Delivery Authority (VIDA) projects and other major projects.
  • Provide specialist planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, traffic or transport advice in relation to major transport projects, while demonstrating technical and functional leadership and representing DTP’S best practice with external stakeholders and authorities.
  • Exercise independent judgement and apply applicable policy frameworks, guidelines and standards to resolve competing technical or functional objectives to achieve outcomes that benefit the community.
  • Provide project management and reporting functions for the delivery of investment programs that align with DTP service delivery and benefit requirements.
  • Develop relevant and timely reports, briefing materials, presentations and technical advice including ministerial briefings and cabinet submissions as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory
A tertiary qualification in engineering, management, technology or related discipline (mandatory)
Experience in transport and application of engineering, traffic, construction and operations expertise to ensure projects meet asset and performance standards, integrate into the transport network , and optimise whole of life costs. (mandatory)
Demonstrated professional development or additional qualifications in civil/transport engineering (desirable)
Professional charted or accredited qualifications with a recognised professional association. (desirable)
