The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the construction and building commissioning phases of the $396.1 million Warrnambool Base Hospital Redevelopment. This project includes managing the performance of the Managing Contractor on site and supporting the identification and resolution of construction interface issues and operational risks. This position has the unique opportunity to act as VHBA’s representative in dealings with contractors, leading negotiations, and resolving complex issues through consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders on site. This position is based in Warrnambool with occasional travel to Melbourne CBD.
Key aspects of the role include:

Supporting the Project Director, Principal Project Manager, and delivery team in executing the redevelopment. The role includes responsibility for site administration under the Managing Contractor Agreement, contributing to project planning, and managing relationships with the health service.

Taking a proactive approach to problem-solving by identifying issues early, communicating and implementing mitigation strategies, and driving positive outcomes.

Providing effective leadership and management by guiding and supporting team members to reach their full potential and contribute to the achievement of organisational goals!
We are looking for:

Demonstrated experience in delivering hospital construction projects, with the capability to anticipate impacts on health service operations and to effectively plan, communicate, and implement mitigation strategies.

Proven ability to lead and influence diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. Fostering engagement to support individual growth will be key to building a high-performing team.

Qualifications in Construction, Architecture, Building, Engineering or equivalent experience.
