About the role 

This is a Fixed Term Position until 1 October 2027

The Senior Prosecutor leads the TRO Prosecution Team, overseeing Prosecutors and Prosecution Support Officers. The role delivers criminal and regulatory prosecution services for DTP, provides legal and prosecutorial advice, develops team capability, and manages performance and resources.

The role ensures prosecution decisions and case management are lawful, ethical, evidence-based and compliant with legislation. It also manages complex matters, engages with stakeholders including courts and enforcement agencies, and contributes to governance, risk management, strategic planning and continuous improvement to strengthen compliance and regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications and experience 

You’ll bring: 

• Admission to practise as an Australian Lawyer, with a current Australian practising certificate that is free of supervisory conditions, or eligibility to obtain/remove such a condition (mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team in a regulatory, compliance, enforcement or legal environment (mandatory), with post-admission experience in criminal and/or regulatory law and court or tribunal advocacy highly regarded.
• A current driver licence and the ability to obtain and maintain suitable professional identification for court access, as required.

Pre-employment checks and employment conditions  

Relevant pre-employment screening and reference checks will be required.
