Road Safety Victoria (RSV) leads the efforts of all road safety partners to deliver a collective response across government, our industry partners, and the Victorian community to create a safe road environment that supports all road users regardless of mode to make safe choices aimed to reduced road trauma as we work towards the vision of zero deaths on Victorian roads by 2050.
About the role
This is a Fixed Term, full-time position until 30/6/2026.
The Senior Road Safety Program Governance and Partnerships Officer plays a critical role in the coordination and delivery of governance functions that underpin the success of the Road Safety Partnership and significant infrastructure programs.
Operating within a high-performing team, this role ensures the smooth operation of cross-agency governance forums and supports effective oversight of major road safety investments. The role contributes to strategic alignment across multiple delivery partners, ensures robust risk and reporting practices, and drives continuous improvement in governance maturity.
The successful candidate will work under broad direction to lead the end-to-end delivery of governance activities, engage with senior stakeholders across government and agencies, and contribute to decision-making that improves road safety outcomes for the Victorian community. The role requires strong political and organisational awareness, with the ability to work across organisational boundaries, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic and complex delivery environment.

Success in this role requires the ability to analyse complex issues, interpret guidelines, and apply sound judgment to resolve problems, even in ambiguous situations. You will communicate with credibility and impact, build strong, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, and navigate organisational and political contexts to achieve shared outcomes. This involves influencing and partnering effectively, co-designing solutions that meet user needs, and ensuring decisions are informed, timely, and aligned with strategic priorities.

Position accountabilities
This role is responsible for coordinating governance activities across major road safety programs, ensuring high-quality agendas, minutes, briefings, and action tracking for key partnership forums. It requires building strong relationships with agencies such as DTP, TAC, Victoria Police, and DJCS to support effective governance, provide timely strategic advice, and identify emerging risks. You will deliver accurate, insightful reporting to inform decision-making, while continuously improving governance frameworks, tools, and processes to enhance program outcomes and drive governance maturity.
Qualifications and experience
- Proven experience in governance support or project delivery, or stakeholder coordination in a government or complex organisation (mandatory).
- Proficient with commonly used desktop, document management, business intelligence tools & systems (e.g. MS-Office, SharePoint).
- Experience in a Portfolio/Program Management Office (PMO) or large-scale governance environment.
